John 14: 1-3
1Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
God of Faith Brings Life
FEAR OF THE DISCIPLES
--Expectations of the Messiah was political and spiritual.
--Jesus performed actions of a slave and servant and was humble-which were atypical of a "Messiah"
--Jesus was about servitude and weakness.
--V.1 Troubled translates to fear because their hopes were vanishing.
--Fears are related to how we think things will play out.
ANTIDOTE TO FEAR
--An invitation to belong to God.
--Jesus will take care of us--because there's a room in his Father's house.
--Presence of God equals the action of God -- A Relationship.
HOW TO WE GET THIS ANTIDOTE
--V.3 Jesus does the work by going and coming back.
--Nothing can touch our relationship with God.
